Philly Hope Missional Project Update

What a blessing Philly Hope's Christmas project has been this year.

I want to share with you some of the great little stories that developed this year.

The first photo on the left is a package of 4 boxes that arrived at 5:30 on saturday morning. They were dropped off by a co-worker who wanted her kids to participate in the program.

We then were blessed with a panel truck to take the load down with.

This was loaded with 300 boxes from 5 churches and 3 individuals. 30 afghans were also made and donated. We also took a lot of food and even a frozen turkey! Several winter coats and some other winter clothing also made the trip.

We raised enough money that we were able to purchase a 14.8 cubic foot freezer as well to take down.

One of the individuals who went with us had a local bar donate their swear jar!

Several people donated money from around the country as well.

We were blessed to have the opportunity to help Shawn McKnight and his ministry distribute some of the boxes. So Here's some pictures of the kids and the freezer.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible! From my heart to yours the only thing I can say is THANK YOU! Also a special thank you to those who used this as an inspirationto do something in your own community! You are changing people's lives! We'd like to hear about your project - so drop us a note!

How wonderful! I was inspired about the boxes for homeless folk, so our twist was to call a local shelter for women and children. Several moms who meet weekly for storytime at a bookshop, each purchased items from the shelter's 'needs' list, gathered together to pack them up, and delivered them yesterday.

The kids had fun as well. We have committed to bringing items every quarter as a project for our group. Thanks for the inspiration!
