So here is 5 things you may not know about me from reading my blog.

1. I am a sports fan – used to be a fanatic – but now just a fan. Yankees, Panthers, Bobcats – UNC. Ill watch any sport. Played college baseball and enjoy golfing.

2. One of my biggest joys is that 16 years ago my wife and I founded Clergy Appreciation Day. This is the second Sunday in October. This eventually turned into Clergy Appreciation Month. Tens of thousands of churches have honored their pastor because of this. The stories we hear every year of pastors being encouraged is worth everything in ministry.

3. I used to be a “stuff” person – even raised as a believer I truly thought it was all about the stuff. I thought also that if God didn’t give you the money to bring your ministry dreams to reality – that you should go make it yourself. How wrong I learned I was. I’m constantly adjusting my view on stuff and realizing God’s provision is always perfect.

4. I long to hear my heavenly Father say “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

5. My vision of the future – no matter what area of my life or the church or whatever – is always large and seemingly outrageous. I pray God allows me to see some of the vision come to pass.
